God Save My Shoes, featuring Manolo Blahnik, Christian Louboutin, Fergie, Kelly Rowland, Dita Von Teese and Pierre Hardy will release theatrically on March 30th at the Quad Cinema in New York. The film will be available nationwide in May, on VOD and DVD.
Caid Productions announced today the upcoming theatrical release of its new documentary, God Save My Shoes. The feature version of the film (70mn) will first release at the Quad Cinema in New York on March 30th 2012.
Written and directed by Julie Benasra, God Save My Shoes (www.godsavemyshoes.com) is the first film to explore the passionate relationship between women and their shoes, and to examine how shoes have come to occupy such a pivotal role in pop culture, sexuality and women's lives.
God Save My Shoes features celebrities Fergie, Dita Von Teese, Kelly Rowland, poker player Beth Shak, star designers Christian Louboutin, Manolo Blahnik, Pierre Hardy and Walter Steiger, as well as fashion historian Valerie Steele, former Vogue Accessories editor Filipa Fino and many more.
"I always envisioned this film as being offbeat, witty, and sassy," says Julie Benasra the director of God Save my Shoes, "but I owe it to the cast who span this fashion documentary into a vivid portrait of the modern woman, a reflection of our condition as women in this society through our relationship to shoes."
